One of our clients is currently looking to hire a Sr. Software Engineer that has experience with the Hadoop ecosystem and Big Data. This is a direct, full-time opportunity with one of our clients in the Northern San Diego area of Carlsbad. A detailed job description is listed below.
Position Description:
As a Sr. Software Engineer you will be a key member of the company’s Engineering/Development team with a focus on developing solutions using their Big Data stack. This role involves working on high volume, low latency parallel processing programming tasks.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Strong development experience with the Apache Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, MapReduce, etc.)
- Proven experience with designing and developing solutions that rely on Hadoop systems and big data stores.
- Knowledge of NoSQL, Cassandra or other high performance distributed database systems and big data stores.
- Experience with parallel processing, event/streaming based software architectures.
This is a difficult position to describe. Our client is looking for candidates that are interested in tackling the idea of big data as it relates to search engines and distributed systems. They are interested in candidates that have experience with or that have an interested in several of the technologies below. Experience with all of these is not mandatory.

Education/Experience:
- This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or another relative technical degree.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
